ISP caught hijacking redirecting search results

As per New Scientist reports Some Several ISP are hijacking search engines searches allegedly and redirecting an affiliate website to earn potential profits.

If a User would search on search engines by keyword such as Appple Store and the user ISP may redirect via an affiliate program to earn potential profits on a other website.

As per the The New Scientist, The redirection can also provides unwanted results to user. For Example If a user want to read news in The Hindustan Times and search “Hindustan Times”; the redirection system would take them to a page offering subscription deals for the paper.

Google became aware of this earlier and has asked those ISPs to stop this practice but reportedly the practice is still going on with other search engines such as Yahoo and Bing.
